At Splashworld we offer Swimming Lessons to suit all ages and abilities from Pre School through to Older Adults in a safe and fun environment.
All lessons are taught on a 7 week basis – with a lesson once a week for seven weeks. Lessons take place throughout the School Year – commencing in September and running in seven week sessions until June.
During Midterms and School Holidays we occasionally run Swim Camps where lessons will be run daily for 4 – 5 days.
We endeavour to keep the same Instructor teaching a group for each session however through illness etc. sometimes this is not always possible. However all our Swimming Teachers are fully qualified and have quite a bit of experience.
All lessons are taught on a group basis – Children are grouped according to ability – Beginners 1, 2 and 3 Improvers 1, 2and 3 and Advanced with a maximum of 10 Children to each instructor. Pre School and Adults are in groups of 8.
Towards the end of each 7 week session children are assessed by the Instructor and advised whether to proceed to the next level or whether to repeat the same level.
It is important to remember that some children will progress faster that others and it is quite normal for a child to repeat a lesson a number of times before proceeding to the next level. On the final day of each session each child will revieve a Certificate of Ability – regardless of whether they repeat or proceed.
Each lesson is for 45 minutes – 35 minute lesson and 10 minutes Supervised playtime.
We recommend that children and adults come along and practice between each lesson – this will really help with their progress. Local Advantage cards are available so they can swim at a reduced rate.
